But the demands of daily life often get in the way. Join us for our 14-day residential Dissertation Boot Camp in Jaco Beach Costa Rica, January 2027.

 

Immerse yourself in a supportive environment, connect with fellow writers, and focus fully on achieving, and even surpassing, your writing goals!

  • Objective: Provide dedicated support for graduate students working on dissertations, including structured time for research, writing, and personalized feedback in a motivating, distraction-free small group environment.​

  • Location: Jaco, Costa Rica, residential home with double/single  occupancy rooms

  • Duration: 14 days, January 2, 2027 – January 15, 2027

Dissertation Boot Camp Overview

Sample Daily Schedule, Monday - Friday

​

  • 7:30 – 9:00 AM: Breakfast, Light Exercise/Beach, and Briefing

  • 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Writing Block (Silent focused    writing sessions)

  • 12:00 - 1:30 PM: Lunch Break & Free Time

  • 1:30 - 4:30 PM: Writing Block (Silent focused writing sessions)

  • 4:30 - 5:30 PM: Peer Review and Individual  Consultations

  • 5:30 - 7:30 PM: Break & Relaxation, Sunset on the Beach,  Dinner in Jaco restaurants/cafes

  • 7:30 - 8:30 PM: Group Reflection (share progress and challenges)

 

Weekend, Saturday - Sunday

  • Hike Monteverde Cloud Forest with Zipline option

  • Optional writing session

 

TOTAL COST: $3200.00

Included: ​

  • Roundtrip economy airfare--closest major airport

  • Bootcamp program fee

  • Lodging

  • Ground transportation/Weekend excursion

  • Breakfast, some snacks/Miscellaneous

  • Passport (no visa required)

  • Most meals are on your own
